Arash Sobhani is a songwriter, guitarist, producer, and cultural voice whose work has shaped the landscape of Iranian alternative music. As the founder and frontman of Kiosk, one of the most influential underground bands to emerge from Iran, he has been recognized internationally for his sharp lyricism and fearless storytelling. His songs, written in Farsi, combine wit, poetry, and political awareness—always resonant, never didactic.
Sobhani’s career spans over two decades of music-making and cross-cultural collaborations. His work has been featured by Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, BBC, NPR, establishing him as a vital artistic voice both inside and outside Iran. Beyond the stage, he is also known as a television host, producer, and outspoken advocate for human rights and democracy, with appearances and lectures at leading institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, and UC Irvine.
